Things

There are certain things I am grateful for in life. These are some of the best.

My girlfriend

Intelligent, relaxed, gorgeous.

Simply the best girlfriend ever!

Flickr.com

Only on flicker.com can you empty the contents of your bag AND see the contents of everyone else's bags as if it were perfectly normal! And possibly the only place on the planet where you can find over 17500 pictures of cats! cute and unbelievable.

Playstation

My PS2 PSP is my desert island. Being sat at a computer all day long can get a bit intense. Sometimes you need a break and there's nothing better than trashing your supercar over a bridge into oncoming traffic at 120mph then blowing it all to smithereens. Sweet.

USB Memory stick

One of the most useful tools I've ever owned. I keep my mail on it, my personal pictures, software tools, downloads, all my web sites, notes, passwords, anything computer related. Its either that or I have to carry my laptop to work every day. At £10 for 1GB and getting cheaper its a must have. Now I just need one half the size and 300GB for everything else.

Ebay

From underwear to imaginary pet welsh dragons, you name it they got it. I check ebay before I buy anything and I've had many a bargain. Recommended A+++

Bloglines

Simply put, Bloglines is the most useful site on the internet. If you've been putting off using an RSS news reader because you don't want to deal with yet another application, try setting your home page to Bloglines.com and setting up a profile of news feeds. Unlike client side news readers, Bloglines is automatically in sync no matter what computer you happen to be at. Even if you're in a remote corner of the world on your Treo 600 cell phone, you can check your news and blogs through the genius that is Bloglines.

Glyph Firewire Drive

Wow. What a drive. This is THE best firewire drive money can buy. I've been using Glyph drives for nearly 4 years and i haven't found another that even comes close to the build quality of this baby. It has a steel chassis and though a bit prone to scratches can withstand some of the roughest treatment you can throw at it. It has all the ports you could ever need with firewire 400/800 USB and eSATA. It has a built in PSU so you don't have to worry about trailing an adaptor around with silly, fragile pin connectors, and if you forget your lead your never far from a standard 3-pin mains lead, even if you have to sacrifice the kettle to backup your files. A 3-Year waranty with advance replacement in the first year. And it has a fan. So what, you say? Well allot of drives have no fan, and get pretty hot. I've used this drive to boot dead macs, run disk recovery tools like Data Rescue and recover the data to the glyph for countless numbers of machines. After many sessions of 12 hours and longer this unit, and its predecessor, have been luke warm at best and it does all this almost COMPLETLY SILENTLY!. Want one? speak to these guys.
