This site is my portal. It is intended for people who are looking for information on the design of the site they came from and/or future customers. On this site you will find a portfolio of my current work, some articles that I have found interesting, contact details, links etc.. Generaly lots of information about me and what I am able to offer. This site is my main testing ground for projects and sites. For current projects check my home page

For the last 5 years I have been working for an apple reseller in bristol and more recently an Apple Service Centre in Portsmouth, Hampshire as an Apple Certified Technician. This position has allowed me to expand my knowledge of apple hardware and software, networking and broadband communications, and first hand insight into how ~~users~~ people interact and view internet technologies.

I have always wanted to be involved in computing technologies, and decided to follow a proggramming route early on. I went to colledge to take a course in c++ proggramming and ended up studying java, html/css, javaScript, SQL and PHP. Although I have not used my c++ knowledge since I left colledge I have actively persued web design and feel that this more dynamic and visable role is where my talent lies.

It is my personal long term goal to become a PHP developer . As more and more companies begin to trade on the internet, online shopping, interactive and dynamic sites will become ever more popular. I believe that future technologies will become more and more reliant on open source software, from os systems like linux to web proggramming languages like php that have lower setup costs accociated with them. We are already seeing a surge in WEB 2.0 applications like Googlemaps and flickr relying on minimal proccessing at the browser end reducing server request time and increasing user satisfaction. Programming, installation and support will fall to the smaller companies that specialise in e-commerce and dynamic solutions where people feel more confident that it will not cost the earth, profits will be better for small groups over larger design agencys and uk design will feature more prominently over existing American design. This is where I feel I want to be, in some shape or form...

The controversial Internet Explorer issue..

Are you Too Cool For IE? There is no question that Internet Explorer has security issues. It's hardly suprising as it´s the most available browser on the planet. Im a strong beliver in Firefox, but thats not to say it is superior, it is merly a recomendation that it´s time a new browser had a chance, and what better than a standards compliant, open source browser from the well respected Mozilla foundation. Why don´t you have a go? You have nothing to loose and everything to gain. You might even like it.

I am a strong proponent of web standards and in designing this site, I have used technologies which form a common standard. By designing to these technologies , the content of this web site is made available to a wider range of people and applications.

I have tried my very best to make this web site usable by as many people as possible. Some people with disabilities find using the web difficult and many sites do not accomodate those with visual or other disabilities.
